This group is unique in its instrumentation, inspired in its broadness of repertoire and flamboyant in the musical cornucopia it purveys.
Giving credence to the group’s name, Eclectica! might typically perform in one concert tangos from Argentina, sambas from Brazil, standards from North America and works by Joni Mitchell, Stevie Wonder and Rimsky-Korsakov!
In the short time since its formation in 2007, Eclectica! have sold out at amongst others, Ronnie Scotts, The Wigmore Hall, Dartington Arts, Oxford Jazz Festival, Holywell Music Room, Buxton Opera Festival and have performed live on BBC Radio 3 (In Tune) and BBC Radio Oxford.
Lizzie Ball ~ Violin and Voice
Lizzie’s massively varied career already fully qualifies her inclusion into a group named Eclectica!. She has performed chamber music with The Covent Garden Soloists, orchestral work with The Phil harmonia, and regularly performs with the Ronnie Scott’s All Stars. She also leads Classico Latino, the piano trio that specialises in all aspects of Colombian music. Lizzie currently leads and is a guest soloist with Nigel Kennedy’s ‘Orchestra Of Life’.

Pete Oxley ~ Guitar
Pete has been enjoying an international career in jazz which began during his self-imposed 10-year exile to France. Now re-established in the UK, he has produced 10 CDs of original music and is known for his composing skills in equal measure to his lyrical guitar playing. Aside from his various band projects, Pete has been the house-band guitarist at The Spin for the last 12 years: the jazz club which has been shortlisted by Parliament as the ‘Best Jazz venue in the UK’ for the last consecutive 5 years.
Nicolas Meier ~ Guitar
With his unique style that is a blend of Metheny-esque jazz and Turkish inspired world music, Nic has toured extensively around the world with his band the Meier Group, sharing the bill with some of the biggest names in jazz including Bill Evans and Brad Mehldau. His recent album ‘Journey’ is a wonderful heady mixture of Flamenco, jazz, Latin and Middle Eastern music. His prodigious jazz talent is matched by his other great passion: playing heavy metal guitar in his scorching group ‘Seven7’.
